Michael Farmer introduced a mysterious bug.
Michael Farmer, of Costa Rica, found a strange object while walking.
On the leaves of the guava tree, a beetle that looked like a piece of metal was shining in the sun.
He thought it was a model, so he immediately picked up a model of a bug.
Surprisingly, however, what he picked up was a real live beetle.
The beetle is Chrysina limbata, famous for its light-reflecting silver body.
Chrysina limbata is the unique beetle in the world because of its beautiful appearance.
Facing a rare beetle that is hard to see once in a lifetime, Palmer said, “I didn’t know beetles could be this beautiful. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this.”
“It was like a mirror. It reflected perfectly. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Chrysina limbata in his picture was about the size of a finger.
The beetle in the picture flew away in a flash when he put it back on the tree.
Chrysina limbata was sold at a high price and was hit hard by indiscriminate capture by collectors and habitat destruction.
